As soon as the selected coffees reach the factory they are assessed by roasting small samples and testing them to ascertain that they have the correct flavour, body, aroma and acidity. Over the years we have developed the roasting of each coffee to suit its flavour characteristics. Roasting produces the coffee flavour, which changes considerably as the coffee gets darker. The blending of coffee is both an art and a science.

During the roasting process the coffee is cleaned and carefully monitored to produce the correct blend and colour every time. This is achieved by a trained and experienced eye, and by use of the spectrometer. Our 120kg and 240kg capacity computer-controlled Lilla roasters enables us to process 10 tonnes of roasted coffee per day, while our 12kg Probat roaster will prepare smaller quantities of specific coffee for individual customers.

The roasted beans can then be ground, if required, and packed according to your specification and this can include personalised packaging. Bulk portion control packs are packed on Rovema machines, while our hand packing department gives us greater flexibility to meet any demands in quantity, or speciality, that are required of us.
Over the years, we have built up a select clientele through providing consistent quality and excellent service. We hold over 22 single estate coffees, all of which are available as raw coffee or roasted, together with an infinite number of blends. Our teas can also be packed to your specification, perhaps with your own choice of labelling. We can offer 85 different teas and various qualities of tea bags.

We are registered for the sale of Fairtrade coffees. Some of our specialities are sold under the 'Crema' label and our list features the 'Smiths Speciality Blue Mountain Jamaica' tin.
We have created a range of blends suitable for use with cafetiere, the filter and espresso machines. We can give you tastes for the time of day, or develop a blend especially for you. If you are looking for your ideal cup of coffee, talk to us and see what we can offer you. Tell us about the styles of drink that you like - how they will be brewed, stored and displayed - and to what price level you would like us to work. We can then let you try some samples, before placing your order.
